IAAM Young Scientist Award and Medal is a distinguished honour that is presented by the International Association of Advanced Materials to worthy young and upcoming researchers. This coveted recognition serves as a recognition of the merit and potential of young researchers and commend their professional achievements.

As part of its Awards & Recognition Program, IAAM confers the Young Scientist Award and Medal upon young and upcoming researchers who have conducted quality research in the field of Materials Science, Engineering, and Technology or have demonstrated high merit and potential to do so attempt to recognize the hard work of all the scientists and researchers, by honouring the researchers in the most initial stage of their career, International Association of Advanced Materials hopes to motivate and inspire them for leading a long-lasting career. The association values excellence in Materials Research and Development and encourages the young scientists and professionals to conduct ground breaking study.

Nomination Guidelines

IAAM calls upon the brightest and most promising young scientists to file their nominations, with their updated CVs, for the IAAM Young Scientist Award and Medal. The association accepts nominations from all, including scientists, researchers, professionals, government agencies, policymakers, students, and independent researchers, who have been instrumental in the advancement of Advanced Materials Science, Engineering, and Technology. Government agencies, independent researchers, and policymakers working in the field of Materials Science, Engineering and Technology. The association honours the worthy brains of the Materials world on a regular basis in order to promote and catalyse the advancement of materials to a sustainable and green world.

The Award and Lecture

IAAM Young Scientist Award and Medal is a prestigious honour meant for the early-career researchers and young professionals. The worthy young professionals who are shortlisted for this coveted medal and award are mandatorily required to deliver the IAAM Young Scientist Medal Lecture in the online Advanced Materials Lecture Series or in one of the assemblies of Advanced Materials Congress. The lecture is recorded and published in the Open Access Video Journal of IAAM- Video Proceedings of Advanced Materials.

Eligibility

For this coveted honour, IAAM considers the young professionals, post-doc researchers, and early career scientists who have conducted some quality research and made an impact a significant field, including but not limited to, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Medicine, Engineering, Planetary Sciences, Ocean, and Atmosphere. The independent researchers who have demonstrated high merit and potential for leading the world of materials research. IAAM appreciates and promotes their involvement in Materials Science, Engineering, and Technology by awarding them with this highly desirable award. The association does not consider the ethnicity, background, race, nationality, gender, age, religion, or race while finalizing the list of the recipients of this award.

Selection Procedure

International Association of Advanced Materials conducts a review of the attempts at Research & Development conducted by young scientists, professionals, and graduates in Materials Science and Technology. IAAM calls upon the deserving and worthy professionals to file the nominations for the award and medal. The scientific committee of IAAM is the sole discretionary body that reviews the nominations and shortlists the young scientists to submit abstracts for the IAAM Young Scientist Medal Lecture. This lecture is delivered in either of the online Advanced Materials Lecture Series or Advanced Materials Congress. Once the abstract is submitted, the IAAM Young Scientist Medal Lecture is delivered within three months of the date of endorsement.


Administration

IAAM constitutes a Search Committee to conduct the review process for IAAM Young Scientist Medal. The Scientific Committee considers the contributions made by individuals in the early stages of their careers to decide the final list of awardees. In the last decade, the International Association of Advanced Materials has honoured young researchers from as many as 50 countries with this coveted award and medal.
